What started in the late 1800s as a chicken ranch and later in the 1920s metamorphosed into a nursery, finally emerged in the 1940s as a campground. In 1952, with the nearby valley freshly dammed and turned into Lake Murray, our site became an RV park.

Today Lake Murray Mobile Home Park still offers an affordable, centrally-located place to live in the La Mesa area to those who wish to own a mobile home.

Sitting on the Mesa at the end of Mission Valley, our mornings are wrapped in the marine layer well into June; a cool breeze accompanies most of our days. The nearby lake offers miles of trails, paved and pure dirt, for runners, hikers, and cyclists alike. Around the lake where the light pollution is limited, it is dark enough to see a meteor shower or the passing space station.

The abundance of wildlife from Mission Trails spills even over onto our property, and sightings of owls, ospreys and turkey vultures along with coyotes, raccoons, skunks, and opossums are not exactly rare.
